There are some skills in Algebra 1 that are very important since they occur on the State Exam. Thus, we have a special
emphesis on them.
Throughout the semester, you will be tested on these skills. Your job is to get them totally correct.
The
first time you will be able to pass a skill is when it occurs on an Exam. If you get the skill totally correct, you will gain
the grade listed below. If you do not, you don't. (Note to self: For your exam grade, you will be able to earn partial
credit on a skill question. For your skill credit, it is either totally correct or not.)
Each Skill will be tested in class
once. If you do not pass, or miss taking it for any reason, there will be opportunities both inside and outside of class to
try again. (Note: If you missed taking a skill due to a truancy, the best grade you can get is a C.)
Grading Scale
will be easy:
Pass the first time: A
Pass the second time: B
Pass the third time: C
Pass the 4th or later: D
Part of the Final Exam
will be title "Super Skills!". This will be your final opportunity to pass an unpassed skill.
The list of skills
along with examples are found in the skill section.
