The AP Statistics Exam is given the second Wednesday afternoon during the AP testing season.
The test itself consists of
two parts.
1. 40 multiple choice questions with a 90 minute time frame.
2. 6 written response questions, with about 60 minutes
for the first 5, and 30 for the last one.
Each part contributes to 50% of your exam grade.
You will be able to use your
calculator for the entire exam. However, do not expect to use it for every problem.
This exam may be the "wordiest" of
all the AP exams, so reading the problem carefully, but quickly will be to your benefit. Remember, the application of statistics
can cover many diverse subject areas, but if you know the procedures that are needed to perform statistical analysis, then you will
be fine.
Every written response answer will require a complete but concise explination. A "yes or no" type of answer will
not get you any credit without the evidence to back it up. Also, you will need to write down any calculator answers in "english"
and not in "calculator speek"
You can go to the college board's web site and download the entire book on AP Statistis if you
wish. It is a large .pdf file.
